HEFEI - Chinese automaker Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp Ltd (JAC) saw its revenue grow 1.92 percent year-on-year to over 50 billion yuan ($7.4 billion) last year.

According to the annual report released by JAC, the Anhui-based company sold 230,000 commercial vehicles in China in 2018, including over 200,000 light trucks.

JAC said its new energy commercial vehicles got popular last year, with a sales volume of 3,600, up 380 percent year-on-year. Sales of its new energy passenger vehicles rose 125 percent to top 60,000 last year.

In 2018, JAC exported 74,000 vehicles, an increase of 13 percent year-on-year.

However, the sales volume of JAC's passenger vehicles declined in the second half of last year due to impacts of the downturn in the domestic passenger vehicle industry.
