BEIJING - Ferrari will recall 2,071 imported vehicles in China due to faulty airbags, according to the country's top quality watchdog.

The recall, set on July 1, will involve a number of imported Ferraris manufactured between April 8, 2013 and Nov 28, 2017, according to the State Administration for Market Regulation.

The front passenger airbags, produced by Japanese manufacturer Takata, have defective inflators that could fracture and cause injuries, the administration said.

The company will replace the faulty airbags free of charge.
