CHANGCHUN - Eighty-two Audi Q8 vehicles from the German carmaker reached Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province, on Thursday after a 19-day trip on a China-Europe train from Bremen, Germany.

This marks Audi's first large-scale transport of complete vehicle exports using China-Europe train service.

The second batch of another 82 Audi vehicles departed from Germany on Sept 30, and will reach Changchun on Sunday.

The train service provides a "safer, cheaper and more efficient logistics solution" for vehicle imports, said the importer, China FAW Group Import & Export Co Ltd.

Prior to this, the import of Audi cars to China were carried through sea transport to Chinese ports, before transferred to inland cities for sale, with a single trip taking 40 to 50 days.
