BAIC and Kuwait signed a contract on Monday to deliver 500 D20 hatchbacks as anti-pandemic vehicles, which marks the biggest overseas order of Chinese auto brands since the outbreak.

"The deal shows that our products can meet the local demands of travel and materials distribution during the pandemic, and reflects the Kuwaiti people's trust in the BAIC brand," said an executive of the central and western Asia region of BAIC Intl.

"The quality of the products and their recognition in the market are the reasons that we are able to obtain this order."

In order to adapt the products to the local climate, BAIC launched high-temperature tests in Kuwait in 2015.

With increased sales and recognition, BAIC has gradually formed its own product and brand position in the Kuwait market.

In 2018, BAIC launched BJ40L Plus off-road vehicle in Kuwait, which has sold well. The country has become one of the most important export markets for BAIC off-road products.

Last month, BAIC launched the Beijing-X7, the first strategic model under its new Beijing brand to meet the various demands of different countries.
