ZXZC learned from SAIC official that accumulative total sales of Volkswagen and Skoda were 2001777 vehicles in 2016, not only topped the domestic passenger car market annual sales champion, at the same time also became China's first and only passenger car company whose annual sales exceeded 2 million vehicles.

In 2015,annual sales of Shanghai Volkswagen were 1812077 vehicles, which help Shanghai Volkswagen to return to the first place of domestic passenger car enterprise sales. Under the environment of fierce competition, independent brands kept upward and the luxury brand downed further, Shanghai Volkswagen still achieved double-digit growth, up 10.5% compared with 2015.

Within the two brands of SAIC, the total sales of Volkswagen in 2016 were 1671689 units, year-on-year growth was 9.1% , continually retained the title of sales volume in the domestic single car brand .

Among them, the annual sales of Polo were 180150 units, ranking first in the class A0 hatchback market, compared with the performance of the nearly 180000 vehicles in 2015, the sales slightly grew in 2016. Annual sales of Lavida were 548131 vehicles, compared with 2015, the grades improved sharply and further consolidated the position of the domestic car market sales champion.

In addition, the sales of Passat were 188214 units in 2016, continually leaded the class B car market. Tiguan ranked first in domestic sales of joint brand SUV by the annual sales of 242,160 units. Compared with 2015 of 255751,it declined slightly; since going public in October, sales of the silk road version increasingly rose, by the end of December, the sales nearly achieved 30000 vehicles.
