Skoda’s 2016 sales increasing 18% in China
Shanghai January 4th, 2017 ZXZC-Domestically-made Skoda models face increasing sales volume since the year 2006, and now China is Skoda’s biggest market across the globe. It’s known from official data that SAIC Volkswagen Skoda brands sell 330,088 units in 2016, increasing 18% and creating a historical record. The accumulative sales in November, 2016 have exceeded the annual sales volume in 2015, showing a strong growth trend. Besides, more models including Kodiaq will also be launched in 2017.
New B-class car Superb, a newly-launched model, sells 41,692 units in 2016 and increases 126%. Spaceback has annual sales of 27,527 units, doubling with the number in 2015. Rapid also faces growing sales. Octavia, the main sales force in the Rapid family, has average monthly sales exceeding 10,000 units and sells 155,000 units across the year, accounting for 47% of the total brand sales.
Launching new models will stimulate the sales growths. It’s know that five new models will be launched in 2017, including the new Octavia and Octavia wagon and A+-class SUV Kodiaq in the early year, facelift model of Rapid model in the middle of year and New Yeti at the end of 2017.
