Shanghai December 27th, 2016 ZXZC - Dongfeng Yunnan Motor Co., Ltd is a production base of Dongfeng Motor, located in the southwest of China and Southeast Asia. Its production capacity includes annual output of 30,000 units of Plateau Characteristic Dongfeng series vehicles, including commercial vehicles, passenger cars, pick-up trucks, new energy vehicles, as well as parts assembly abilities.

IIA recently learned from the provincial government of Yunnan that they had signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Dongfeng Motor Corp in Kunming. The two sides will further deepen cooperation to build a Dongfeng Motor production-sale base, which is expected to produce 100,000 SUV models annually.

According to the previous plan of Dongfeng Yunnan Motor, it plans to invest 2 billion yuan in central area of Yunnan to construct modernized Dongfeng Motor Industrial Park. At that time, its annual production capacity will reach 150,000 units of whole models, matching with the agreement.

According to the plan, Dongfeng Yunnan Motor is going to develop commercial vehicles with regional characteristics, oriented towards the market of Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, and southeast Asia, a planned annual capacity of 10,000 vehicles for the first phase, mid-long term 30-50 thousand vehicles. At the same time, it will also build SUV business, a planned annual capacity of 50,000 vehicles for the first phase, mid-long term 80-100 thousand vehicles.

On October 9th this year, Dongfeng Fengshen AX5 rolled off in the factory in Changzhou, marking the strategic landing of  Dongfeng Motor in the Yangtze River Delta region. Prior to this, Dongfeng Motor has four main production bases in China.  The base in Yunnan will further expand Dongfeng Motor’s  coverage in the market of west and southeast Asia.
