Chinese automaker Geely's January sales soar 40%

BEIJING - Chinese automaker Geely Auto Group said Monday that its sales soared 40 percent year-on-year in January.

Sales hit 156,326 units last month, up 1 percent from December, the automaker said.

Among the sold cars, 4,289 were new energy vehicles.

The company has met over 10 percent of its annual sales target, which was set at 1.53 million units this year.

In January, Geely's exports skyrocketed 343 percent year-on-year to 10,031 units, the company said.
