XPENG AEROHT, HRC step up cooperation to tech R&D, volume production for flying car

Shanghai (ZXZC)- On August 7, 2024, XPENG AEROHT, the flying car (eVTOL aircraft) company affiliated to XPENG, signed a deep strategic cooperation agreement with HRC, a global leading composite material solutions supplier, in Guangzhou city. Building on their existing successful partnership, the two companies aim to further advance their collaboration focusing on advanced lightweight materials, components, and airframes. This partnership will encompass both current models and future planned models, reinforcing their leadership in the low-altitude flight sector.

The agreement marks a significant step in expanding and upgrading the cooperation between XPENG AEROHT and HRC, following the success of the XPENG X2 flying car model. The partnership will involve extensive collaboration in key areas such as manufacturing process innovation, mass production support, industrial layout extension, and the development of application scenarios for XPENG AEROHT's range of low-altitude products. This includes the innovative modular flying car, dubbed "Land Aircraft Carrier" by XPENG AEROHT. Both companies aim to leverage their respective resources and technological strengths to maximize their potential.

A key highlight of this strategic partnership is the emphasis on sustainable development and practical cooperative measures. XPENG AEROHT and HRC will utilize HRC's expertise in carbon fiber and bio-based composite materials, along with recycling and reuse technologies, to jointly develop recyclable lightweight composite material solutions. This initiative aims to make flying cars lighter, greener, and more efficient.

XPENG AEROHT's modular flying car will be produced at its newly established intelligent manufacturing base in Guangzhou and is scheduled for pre-sale in the fourth quarter of this year. HRC's subsidiaries have been recognized as leading enterprises and innovative demonstration institutions in the low-altitude economy, with several jointly developed aircraft products gaining significant attention.
